A
professional Showman and Guitar virtuoso, Eddi Lambert
originally was a child prodigy on violin. At age 8,
Lambert , hailing from Camden NJ, sat as first chair
in the Camden County All-Star Orchestra. It wasn't long
howver until Lambert's attention was turned to the guitar
after he first heard the sounds of Jimi Hendrix. Lambert's
influences include: John McGlaughin, Frank Morino, Santana
and Pat Travers but nobody's music consumed him like
Jimi's. "I became a Hendrix historian. I not only wanted
to learn every riff he played but I wanted to learn
all about his life as well. So I bought every book,
video or album of Jimi I could find." Lambert has said.
From then on, no matter what project Eddi performed
with , he always would include Hendrix numbers in his
sets. Hendrix's famous guitar gymnastics came naturally
to Lambert as well as his vocal tones. Lambert's incredible
ability to re-create Hendrix's style, voice and guitar
sounds consitently left crowds in awe wherever he played.
Lambert
would go onto Howard University where he honed his own
sound and skills while in the campus Jazz band and by
playing as a side man in local and touring Funk, Blues
and Reggae acts working through D.C. This led to time
with such national acts as Mother's Finest
& Bad Brains. Finally, Eddi would meet
another of his idols,BB
King, who encouraged him to keep
playing. After a stint in the U.S. Army, Eddi did just
that. Returning home to become one of the most sought
after free-lance guitarists in the Philly, NJ & DelVal
area. Eddi has since performed &/or recorded with multiple
area musical acts from Heart Fulla Bluz to Nasty Habits
to Nick
Clemons (son of Clarence fr. Springsteen's
E St. Band).
While
Eddi still enjoys sitting in other peoples’s projects,
his undeniable knack for showmanship led to establishing
his own… the electric “EDDI
LAMBERT BAND.” The ELB show has become
a favorite in the tri-state area performing hits from
the 50’s to the 90’s in a variety of musical genres
from ROCK, BLUES, FUNK, MOTOWN, DANCE, POP and SOUL
to keep any crowd as Eddi likes to put it, “Rockin’
the Nite to the Guitar Bite.”
Eddi still enjoys playing the cover band scene but the
desire to capture his own music finally bit Lambert
in 2003. Then Eddi teamed with Billy
Joel Tribute artist,
Danny
V (of 52nd Street Band)
to form the All-Star blues original
recording project – The Jersey Devilz.
Inspired by Danny V… Eddi decided he too would like
to give back to his original musical idol, JIMI HENDRIX,
by bringing a true HENDRIX TRIBUTE show to audiences
who never were able to see JIMI play. And
So…
